OK friends, I am back. I apologize for being off the net for the last couple of years (of course I just got older) but I have been doing a little travel and wrote some memoirs of my childhood and family for my kids. Well a lot has happened in 2022 and here are my thoughts. First up is, again, abortion. This one really confuses me. The Supreme Courts of the US decides that the abortion debate is a state matter and not a federal matter. OK, I got it. I have, unlike most, read the Constitution. However all these folks who are pro-death, I mean pro-woman’s rights, become incensed. They vote in a federal election for pro-abortion candidates. This[…]

I have been thinking about this new Federal Holiday for a few weeks. My conclusion: Biden blew it. Now don’t get the dander up. I fully support a Federal Holiday that celebrates the end of slavery in the US. Terrible time with inhuman bondage. But Juneteenth is divisive or at the very least not inclusive. I was born in Michigan, grew up in California, and went to college in New York. I have lived in Florida, Virginia, Maryland, Kansas, and Washington State. I have worked extensively in Texas and Arizona. My wife was born in New Jersey. And I have never heard of Juneteenth. I have heard of the 13th Amendment to the Constitution and its ratification in December 1865[…]

This is a topic that completely baffles me. But I am old so that is pretty easy. Part of my problem is history. The “importing” of African slaves, captured and sold by Black Africans,  became illegal in 1808. The Civil War went from 1861 to 1865. Hundreds of thousands of Union soldiers died to preserve the Union and end slavery. The Underground Railroad could not have succeeded without “white” folks helping. The 13th Amendment was passed just after the end of the Civil War which made slavery illegal. The 1960’s began the end of “Jim Crow” under the passing of equal rights, voting rights, equal opportunity, and laws forbidding discrimination based on race for things like loans, housing, and jobs.[…]

I watched today and was amazed again. Of course I’m old and amazing me is a simple thing. OAC and her Squad now believe that deporting gang members, murderers, and criminals who are illegal aliens is racist. I am starting to think my own Congresswoman believes the same. What? Violate our laws is OK? Killing Americans is not racist? Should the Vice President apologize to Mr. Rivera from Mexico for being arrested for the murder of Molly Tibbets (a white girl from the US)? Isn’t Kamala in charge of the Southern Border?  Do not American Lives Matter? I’m an old guy and I don’t get it…….

I am reading about a planned CHOP Festival in Seattle on June 21. This festival is designed to celebrate the one year anniversary of CHOP. Everyone remembers CHOP- Capital Hill Occupying Protest. That armed insurrection and secession of territory in the middle of Seattle, Washington.  You know the peaceful protesters that had people killed and raped and destroyed private and public property during the Summer of Love. The state and city governments as well as the Seattle police just stood by and watched. And now the festival organizers want the City of Seattle to help fund this festival!   Well, my unnamed, anonymous source who was the Administrative Assistant to the Deputy Undersecretary to the Secretary of State for CHOP[…]

Now, I would never think that I am smarter than an actor or dancer from Hollywood. Afterall, these millionaires obviously know more that us wee folks. I also don’t think I am smarter than a grown man playing a kid’s sport. And making millions a year doing it. Afterall, these people are reading and are informed as well as being highly educated. I just read. So I read a law passed by a State that changes its voting laws. And unlike all the smart people in Hollywood and all those CEO’s running big companies and all these kids playing sports, I read it. And unlike all those others claiming that the law suppresses voting I don’t get it. I don’t[…]

If my feeble memory of history is correct it was a Democrat president that warned against public/government employee unions way back in the 1930’s. Where I live school teachers are public/government employees. About half of my property taxes go to the local school district. Almost all the public school teachers are union members while almost none of the private school teachers are. The Chinese Virus has closed the schools in my state and county – except for the private schools. The state conducted a study on the Chinese Virus spreading in schools during the last five months of 2020. The results are amazing. Maybe? In five months a total of approximately 305 Chinese Virus cases attributed to schools were recorded.[…]
