Ok. Election year is on us. Here we go.

Look, I understand some things in spite of my age. You like some people and you dislike others. You agree with some and disagree with others. But I have always kept that to me and never denied any voting. Whoa! Was I wrong.

We now have states individually deciding who can run for a federal office and who can’t. All this even though there are no convictions in federal court for accused crimes. Even though our Constitution cites qualifications for federal office. When did states get the right to try federal crimes – and not just state crimes?

If a state can determine who is on the ballot why can’t a county or city? Would not this result in one party rule or result in a judge determining who represents us? What would we do if Governor Old Guy, backed by his state supreme court, said only my son, Young Guy, can be on the ballot for the office of governor? Or my state citizens can only vote for Young Guy to be president of the US? When did judges get so smart they know better than us how we want to live and who we want in office? Is this not why we hold elections?

Hate Trump or love Trump. I don’t care. I will vote for the person I believe would represent us the best. If I am wrong I will vote differently next time. We are a Republic and that’s the way it is supposed to work.

Looks like feces; smells like feces…. But then I’m and Old Guy and I don’t get it.
