Good Guys
I have always believed that in the world there really are good guys and bad guys. I also believe the real difference is intentions. Good guys have good intentions but often make mistakes. Bad guys don’t make mistakes – they only mean to help themselves at the expense of others. Which means they hurt others.
So now we find another war in the middle east. But this time I think the difference between good guys and bad guys is clearly drawn. The bad guys are this gang of thugs called Hamas. Hamas went into a country on its border, Israel, and killed people. Hamas’ intentions were bad. They burned families alive, shot unarmed people, raped women of all ages, kidnapped people, and decapitated babies. Babies.
So now Israel goes after these bad guys. Hell, sorry – I mean Hades, don’t they have the right? But many people believe that Israel’s attempts should stop (cease fire) because “innocent” people will be harmed. They call them civilian casualties. Well, weren’t those killed in Israel civilians? Is not a baby a civilian? Besides, those innocent civilians in Gaza (called Palestinians) supported, shielded, and even voted for Hamas to lead them. In my book, if you help evil you are evil. In this country we call that an accessory to crime.
But no. We now have protests on college campuses supporting the bad guys. And some of these colleges and universities are Ivy League. Expensive ones. Those places where we expect kids to be getting smarter. Instead we are watching Nazis. Yes, Nazis. They support the killing of Jews. Why don’t they say on their posters “Kill Jews” and save paint? Why do these “institutions of higher learning” keep hiring anti-semitic and anti-us teachers? Why is free speech on these campuses banned?
I think all the smart people sometimes over think this stuff. They keep saying these problems are complex – too complex for us little folks to understand. Really? I think sometimes it is simply good guy versus bad guy. Sometimes we need to simplify. But then…….
I’m and Old Guy and I don’t get it
