Parental Rights
A big topic today centers around parents having a say in the education of their children. Well, we have a state that makes this look like, well, child’s play. This state wants to destroy the family and any parental influence on the raising of their children. And every Democrat in this state’s legislature voted for this. And it affects the entire United States.
I recently came across a series of articles about Washington State’s new bill/law SB 5599. It is directly related to WA State’s SB 5489. This law allows Washington State to kidnap or remove a child from their family. In fact any child who runs away from ANY state and can get to Washington State can be removed from their family. All the kid has to do is get to a WA State licensed child care shelter/facility/foster home. That home/facility only has to notify the state’s Department of Children, Youth, and Families. There is absolutely no requirement to notify the parents where their child is (it is at the discretion of the facility). WA State becomes the parents.
Oh, but it gets worse: the child can receive elective health care services without the parents knowing.
According to the not so smart bill sponsors the purpose of this law is to make sure Trans Youth receive safe shelter. The hopes of the sponsors is that Trans Youth who come from “non-supportive families” have “meaningful choices” so they aren’t homeless on the streets. The hopes are that kids will get housing and medical services without parental permission or knowledge.
And what kinds of medical Services? Things like hormone therapy (pumping your kid full of drugs), surgical therapy (cutting stuff off or cutting holes where there aren’t normally holes), puberty blocking (don’t want the kid to grow up), abortion (sorry, I mean the exercising of reproductive rights), and even facial feminization (whatever that is). Parents won’t know where their kid is nor do they know what medically is being done to them.
So, a kid can get pumped full of drugs or carved up and the parents know nothing nor know where their kid is. Any runaway kid from any state. It appears that if mom or dad deny a procedure for their little kid that kid can run away and get it done in Washington State. After all, to deny your child is abusive according to this state. And WA State knows better than you.
My wife and I raised three kids. Let me tell you what I learned: kids are dumb. Kids are not smarter than their parents. Kids have no experience and next to zero wisdom. I think I spent most of 25 years using only one word: NO! I was the epitome of childhood denier. I told my kids that their rights came from Mom and Dad. Not the government. Mom and dad were in charge, not the government. NO ONE touched my kid without the permission of my wife or myself. Those kids were my responsibility and not the government’s. It must have worked: three college graduates, two kids with advanced degrees, two veterans, two Brazilian Jiu Jitsu champs, one MMA champ, four grand kids, etc. But it appears that WA State believes kids are smarter than their parents and even have more rights than their parents. It also appears WA State believes I was abusive or non-supportive.
But the one thing that confuses me the most is the lack of outcry. Where are the parent protests? Where are the parent letters? Why are parents so silent? Why aren’t parents screaming on television? Why are parents in WA State just laying down and taking it? Why are Washingtonians willing to destroy the family?
But then, I’m and old guy and I don’t get it.

Still has to pass the senate. I don’t get it, either. I guess I’m getting old, too.
