Protesters or Mob
When I was a kid my parents often told me “Don’t be hanging around that group – they’ll get you in trouble. Whatever one of them does will make you just as guilty.” I said the same thing to my kids and now I say the same thing to my grandkids. It was and is good advice. Choose your friends wisely.
So I sat here and watched on TV as riots broke out in cities all over the country. I watched people get beaten and shot, cops injured, property destroyed and vandalized. I even was amazed at the brazen looting of stores and businesses . All in the name of stopping “racism.” Then I listened as politicians and TV pundits called these people “peaceful protesters.” There were only a “few” rioters. Really? So when does a peaceful protest turn into a destructive and dangerous riot?
Well, since no one else will say the truth I will. It is easy. As soon as the first brick, rock, or bottle is thrown by a peaceful protester you have a mob riot. As soon as you have the first property vandalized or set afire you have a mob riot. As soon as you have shots fired by a peaceful protester you have a mob riot. As soon as a business is broken into or window broken by peaceful protesters you have a mob riot. And every person there becomes a member of the mob. Everyone. None of this “I didn’t do it Mikey did it” crap my kids used to try on me.
I have been to a protest. But as soon as anything violent happened I departed. It is one thing to protest but being in a mob is something else. Just the presence of a person can physically inhibit authorities’ ability to protect lives and property. So I got out of the way and went home.
Last I checked we Americans never bowed to a mob. We stood against mobs. We don’t let mobs rule us regardless of what that weak livered mayor in Seattle says. Summer of love? Really? Is she kidding?
So go ahead and invite ANTIFA or Black Lives Matter to your protest. Applaud the violence. But also accept you will become part of a mob. And you will be just as guilty.
I’m an old guy and I don’t get it.

Agreed! No school like the old school. I like the whole “do unto others as you would want done to you” as well.
